  1. The ceremonies and traditions of our ancestors are important reminders that “the Lord brought us out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery” (13:1-16, 13:14). God knew we needed reminders, especially in the days of old when history was passed down from generation to generation in stories (before email and Google). Today we still need reminding. Though we have Bibles within our reach, books to order on Amazon Prime, the internet to scour, it seems our focus is distracted and we find it easy to forget.
God help me to remember your desire to bring us out of slavery and into your family. Help me to see the lost, the least and the lonely; those captured by jobs and enslaved by status. May your chosen be bold enough to shine the light of Jesus into these dark places.
