  1. “The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come!’ And let the one who hears say, ‘Come!’ Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life” (Revelation 22:17). Indeed the time has come, the last readings in the Holy Bible. With it the promise of “a new heaven and a new earth” (21:1). The famous quote that comforts us when we say goodbye to someone on earth: “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away” (21:4).

It’s interesting that the tribes of Israel are given such honor in Revelation. Those who represent these tribes didn’t have such a good history on earth, but God makes good on his promise: “On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel” (12:12).

“I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple” (12:22). Such a great vision for an Apostle to provide for us at the beginning of Christianity. From this early writing we read: “It is done” (21:6). We win! “No longer will there be any curse” (22:3).

Thank you Lord for your promise of a grand future, one beyond pain and suffering, one where we are honored by your presence and fully know you. Thank you for providing this revelation to John and I pray we will understand the words better each time we read them. Amen.
