  1. There are so many songs written from these two short chapters, many great songs that remind us of the greatness of the Lord Almighty, the God who will not forsake us or abandon us. “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken, nor my covenant of peace be removed” (Isaiah 54:10) and “no weapon forged against you will prevail” (54:17) provide great assurance the our God will always be at our side. Praise be to God!

“Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters” (55:1) — the great invitation from the Maker of heaven and earth. God’s promise that “you will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hill will burst in to song before you” (55:12) gives us all hope for a future free from bondage. “So is my word that goes out from my mouth: it will not return to me empty” (54:11). This is an amazing promise that what God has said will indeed be done, his word will be fulfilled.

These are great words of comfort for all who are facing trials. Lord help us to remember you are there for us even in dark times.
