Let the Word evoke words. May your life encourage lives.
Psalm 19:14, words I’ve heard many times, “May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.” I hope to pray this verse in everything I do.
Psalm 20 includes, “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God” (v7). Such a great reminder to put our faith in the everlasting rather than the transient.
Psalm 21:7 “For the king trusts in the Lord; through the unfailing love of the Most High he will not be shaken.” It’s great to show confidence in leadership that puts their trust in the Lord, the opposite is somewhat troubling. As a country that continues to slip away from trusting God, that embraces atheism, secular humanism and many other religions (whether they call themselves religions or not), we long for a day when leaders put their trust in the Lord Most High. This doesn’t make them perfect, but gives us a much greater chance. Pray for our leaders, especially those who put their trust in the Lord.
