Another parable that describes the kingdom of heaven. Great way to keep our perspective. In order to seek first his kingdom, it’s important to know what his kingdom is like. Matthew provides some great clues!

Let the Word evoke words. May your life encourage lives.
Only one verse, but such a powerful image:
I’m sure there are countless stories, books, movies, etc., about someone discovering riches that are hidden on some piece of land where the main character surreptitiously figures out how to acquire the property and uncover the vast treasure. Wouldn’t it be amazing to stumble upon some vast treasure? The truth is we have found immeasurable treasure in Christ!
Those who have taken the step of faith in Christ have the greatest possible treasure. Jesus describes the incredible joy that should be in our hearts when we discover just how amazing this treasure truly is.
Think about it for just a minute. If we found something that was priceless and knew that we could have that item just by purchasing the surrounding land, wouldn’t we do anything for that treasure? Absolutely! The challenge is understanding the value of what we have in our hands. The world around us tells us differently, it tells us it’s not so valuable, not even important. Revivals are designed to reinvigorate us, to lift our spirits up and get us excited about our faith. Music does this as well, that’s why it’s such an important part of the “church” experience. On Sundays we work to create a celebrative atmosphere because we are genuinely excited about worshiping and honoring the God of the universe — the ultimate treasure!
Lord, thanks again for yet another description of what your kingdom is like. Help us to reveal your glory on earth to everyone we meet!
