I will probably never suffer the way the Israelites suffered at the hands of great oppressors, yet some days I wonder if I can repeat these verses with such resolve. We witness people in dire need, yet have great joy. The Israelites suffered because their leaders let them down. The common folk, the simple farmer, the lowest of the families were all swept away because they were misled. Such a powerful verse, a rose amid piles of ruble.
