Let the Word evoke words. May your life encourage lives.
“They parade their sin like Sodom; they do not hid it. Woe to them!” (Isaiah 3:9). We see such arrogance around us even now, some of which becomes second nature as we are de-sensitized by television, movies, commercials, etc., that flaunt self-centeredness and modern idolatry. We must be careful not to be lured into this “parade” through indifference or self-righteousness. What we see as attractive, as beautiful, will one day be destructive, “instead of fragrance there will be a stench” (3:24). Lord, help me to see with eyes that can help, the a heart that beats for you, the desire to reach out to all the lost, even those that don’t realize they are on the wrong path. Help me to do this without becoming pious and proud. I long for the day when “the Branch of the Lord” (4:2) is refreshed, for your “hiding place” dear Lord!
