Insight: “On the third day…” Abraham is on the way to sacrifice Isaac, to do what God called him to do. Only God and Abraham know the plan. Isaac and whatever servants they have with them are unaware. For days they travel. Minutes, Hours, Days for Abraham to change his mind and cry out to God to have mercy, to provide a way out of this test. Yet he continues. How many times have I cried out to God rather than follow His commands? Abraham was faithful and God does not disappoint. Father God, help me to be faithful to your call, to do that which may not make sense to me, yet clearly your desire.
